About a year ago a good friend of mine, asked me to paint Jack , her nephew. It was really my first step back into portrait painting. I hadn't been doing much painting or drawing at all and the encouragement from my friend got me thinking , maybe i need to jump a little further in this art pool. So i painted little Jack, learned a lot in the process, and got the bug back to be an artist again.
I didn't realize that jack was somewhat of a celebrity and everyone in town would recognize him from the painting, I might as well have painted Elvis. Since everyone knew jack, they could tell I was successful in capturing his likeness.
Fast forward a year and a lot of paintings since, and now it's Julianne's turn. Painting little chubby toes and shear fabric along with trying to capture the likeness, it was certainly a challenge, but that's where the fun is right? Soon she will hang on a wall like Jack ... maybe the will have another sibling sometime?
